What is Full Spectrum CBD?

What is “Full-spectrum CBD” you ask? Good question! There are 3 types of CBD (cannabidiol) currently available. CBD Isolate is the pure form containing no other compounds. Full-spectrum CBD contains multiple parts of the cannabis plant including oils, terpenes, and other cannabinoids. Broad-spectrum is much like full-spectrum in that it is derived from several parts of the cannabis plant. In this post, we’ll cover CBD Isolate vs full spectrum.

CBD Isolate

CBD Isolate is the purest form of CBD. Since there are no other components of the cannabis plant present in isolate, users don’t need to worry about possible adverse effects from other parts of the cannabis plant making it ideal for users just trying CBD for the first time. Isolate can also be used without fear of failing a drug test as there are no traces of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the cannabinoid that gives a person the “high” feeling. Another characteristic of CBD isolate is that it is tasteless and has no smell.

Although Isolate may be pure, the health benefits are not as apparent or mild compared to full-spectrum which has the benefits provided by other parts of the plant.

Full Spectrum CBD

Full-spectrum CBD products offer a wide variety of potential health benefits including anxiety, nausea, muscle pain, anti-seizure, antioxidant, muscle spasms, and anti-inflammatory.

Some studies have concluded that full-spectrum CBD products are more effective than Isolates for pain relief since full spectrum uses all of the cannabis plant. Another advantage full spectrum offers when compared to isolate is that full-spectrum is less processed than isolate

There is also a chance that an individual may fail a drug test because Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is one of the compounds present in full-spectrum CBD products. Although the percentage of THC should be less than .03%, it is important to know that it is present even in such a small amount. It is also important to note that such a small amount will not produce the “high” feeling associated with cannabis.
